Harrah'S Casino in Joliet, Chicago is forty miles outside of Chicago. It should not be confused with Harrah's Metropolis Casino in Metropolis, Illinois.

Table Games

Harrah's Joliet has 23 table games, at present. Most of these are craps, roulette and blackjack, though you can find a game of Caribbean stud and 3 Card poker, too. The casino offers one mini-Baccarat game. Despite its association with the ultra-sophisticated James Bond, Baccarat is about the simplest game in the casino to learn.

For those looking for a game of Texas Holdem, I'm afraid Harrah's Joliet does not have holdem tables.

Slot Machine Games

Harrah's Joliet offers 1,200 machine games. Among these are some 1,100 slots. Nearly half of these are dollar slots, with almost as many quarter slots. Most of the other denominations are represented, though with some 900 of the machines made up of the latter two groups, that leaves little for the other denominations. There are a couple of 5/15 dollar slots thrown in, for good measure.

Harrah's selection of video poker machines is a little lacking, with just under a hundred machines.

Dining

Harrah's Casino has several dining options. Besides having the requisite Starbucks Coffee, it offers The Reserve, Union Station Buffet, Mosaic and Ace's Diner.

Ace's Diner offer cafe food with gambling nicknames. Try their burgers or nachos, or the Blazing 7s buffalo chicken plates. Ace's is steps away from the gaming rooms.

Mosaic offers casual sit down meals. They have an eclectic mix of foods, offering Tex-Mex and Asian cuisine. They also have all the American favorites, with nearly 90 menu items in all. Mosaic serves a dinner menu only.

Union Station Buffet is open from 8am to 10pm most nights, though it stays open an extra hour on Saturday. They offer Italian, Asian, southwest and all-American foods.

On Friday, they offer a bonus seafood buffet. On Saturday, it's bonus strip steak.

Entertainments

At Harrah's, you can watch live musical performances on Stage 151. It has both national and local acts.

The Diamond Lounge offers a more intimate atmosphere, a club with shows and drinks for the weary gambler.

Sheer is Harrah's latest offering. It's a cocktail bar where you can gather with old friends or meet new ones.

Harrah's also offers seminar halls and banquet rooms. These accommodate up to three hundred customers. There are four such rooms in all.
