Craps World Championship

The World Craps Championship was a two-day weekend tournament open to professional and amateur gamblers and craps players. The event was hosted by gambling author, Frank Scoblete. The World Craps Championship was played in July, 2006 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

World Craps Championship

The inaugural World Craps Championship included a list of stars from the gambling industry, such as the Frugal Gambler, Jean Scott and gambling writer and radio host, John Grochowski. The event was hosted in the Atrium Suites Hotel in Las Vegas. Frank Scoblete expected around 32 players to pay the $365 entry fee for the event. The first WCC had 167 entrants.

All participants received dice control lessons from Golden Touch Craps instructors beforehand. One of Frank Scoblete's reasons for hosting The World Craps Championship was to teach dice control techniques and to increase awareness that dice control tips the odds in the favor of a craps player. Of course, the event was also a two-day competition for those who love to play craps.

The original WCC included 10 different championship events. There is a Come-Out Championship, a 6 and 8 event, a 4 and 10 event, a Hard Way title, as well as events for No Sevens, In the Field, On the Hope and Make Your Point. There is also an Ultimate Crapshooter Championship at the World Craps Championship event.

Linda "Lowroller" Mabry was the winner of the World Craps Championship. Here are the winners of the nine main single tournament events.

Dice Control Instructors

Frank Scoblete arranged for dice control instruction for every entry, with a list of craps insiders from the Golden Touch Craps team. This included such names as Dominator, Billy the Kid, Mr. Finesse, Tenpin and Pit Boss. Craps players are among the most colorful gamblers you'll meet in a casino. They are often life-of-the-party types. So it's no surprise that many craps players take such colorful nicknames.

To give fun exhibitions of dice control, these instructors and other names from craps took place in craps Exhibition Challenge Matches. There were twelve challenge matches, which added to the sense of fun on World Craps Championship Weekend at the Atrium.

There were two special challenge matches, too. There was a match between Domination (the "real" Dominator) and Barry Sigismondi, the Television Dominator. There was also a dice control match between Howard Rock 'n Roller and The Mystery Challenger, who turned out to be Howard's mother. This revelation brought down the house.
